Lovely Cabernet Franc fruit. The wine has balanced tannins with a long mouthfilling finish. Red fruit with evidence of cigar box, cedar type characteristics. The wine has come together nicely. More of a traditional style wine. I like the wine

Excellent cab franc dominant wine— very balanced with steak dinner. Restaurant purchase so decant was minimal. This might have been better after 2-3 hours but we didn’t have that luxury. Over 2 hours, I didn’t see much evolution but I wasn’t paying much attention anyways. Nonetheless I liked this wine and can recommend.

Same notes as the last bottle. Drinking very well but has several years ahead. Balanced with good structure. Restrained red and blue berries with a hint of licorice.

Nice to be back tasting this vintage once more after two years. Made from a blend of CS 40%, Syrah 40% and 20% Merlot, aged for 16 months in FR oak barrels, 20% new. Deep ruby colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of dusty cherries, leather, plums, sweet tobacco, vanilla, dry earth, plums, touch of mint and medicinal drawer. Medium+ body, rich, broad, well structured, red fruits, tobacco, medium acidity, medium+ tannins.

Showing beautifully right now. Earthy notes mingling with dark stone fruit and blackberry aromas. Discernible tannins. This wine has aged well.

My first wine from this modern producer. First vintage was released just at 2007, its a blend of CS 40%, Syrah 40% and 20% Merlot, aged for 16 months in FR oak barrels, 20% new. Medium intensity aroma of cherries, balsamic, plums, tobacco, vanilla, dried herbs, hints of undergrowth and earth. Medium+ body, concentrated and persistent with well built structure, mid palate showing great length and depth of flavour - smoky red fruits, pinch of dried herbs, firm tannins especially …

Cork was in good shape, a little stained at the bottom. Decanted for one hour. Good ripe red toned fruit/berries, a bit of mint and some toasted and oaky notes on the nose. Medium to full bodied on the palate, showing rather vibrant red toned ripe berries, a bit of tannic grip but tannins are resolving, some floral or perfumy notes, but there is also a bitter/harsh flavor on the finish. Felt overall still quite youthful with years to go …

Dunkles Rot, wunderbar trinkreif. Wenig, aber reife Tannen, der Cabernet Franc kruterig, der Merlot schokoladig. Allenfalls aber medium body Nicht mehr lnger liegen lassen.

Reddish orange in color with a clear watery edge in appearance and a clean aromatic nose of ripe juicy red fruits, with some mild floral overtones that gives way to some flinty, smokey sedimentary minerality towards the end. The palate is quite appealing, soft, smooth, well-balanced, medium-bodied with some grippy tannins but not too overbearing. The flavor components is dominated by ripe sweet red fruits, with a hint of floral and herbaceous notes, some stoney earthiness especially towards its protracted …

Blend of Cab Franc, Syrah and Merlot. Ripe red berries, red plums, black pepper. Medium bodied and mellow. Soft tannins. This just blooms with food!

Similar tasting note to my last one. A pretty wine, but I still prefer the Sangioveses from this great producer.

Im always skeptical of Bordeaux grapes blended with Syrah - they dont usually play nice together (IMO). On the nose, big time Red Delicious Apple, smoke, mechanical pencil, shoe polish, grapey and stemmy. Palate, sour cherry, smokey blackberry, peppery, graphite. Theres something slightly artificial about the way the oak expresses itself. Med bodied/Med+ acidity/Med tannins. Interesting wine, but doesnt rate very high on the enjoyment scale to me.

Jolly rich, fruity and smooth. This is a wine that combines breeding with being a bit of a tough nut. Not in a tannic beast way, but more a straightforward expression of itself. I am what I am, as Popeye once said.

Medium purple color. Darker aromatics of plum, blackberries, blueberries, also some cassis, smoke, graphite and a touch of bellpepper. It's medium+ bodied and pretty dense, with medium+ tannin and medium+ acidity. Good length. A more internationally styled wine from this great producer.

A blend that shows like a mid-level bdx blend. I enjoyed it more that my mates. Not a star, but accessible and enjoyable for what it is.

A nice wine, with savory, slightly hi-toned red fruits and underbrush. A disjointed; light in the wrong places and chewy in the wrong places. Way overpriced.

I have mixed feelings toward this wine, it showed some sour cherry and mineral aromas, with an above average acidity and body and medium tannins. There was nothing wrong, a very elegant wine, but it didn't give me a lasting impression. It reminded me of Ornellaia 2010, I think it's just too early to be drank now.

Tuscany holiday spring 2014; 4/11/2014-4/18/2014 (Tuscany (San Gimignano)) : Cab Franc, Merlot, Syrah blend. Darker fruits here, some plums and damsons, some medium grain tannin, coats the mouth, mid finish, ages around 12-15 years. to my tatse this was the leat exciting wine of the range, definitely well made, but lacks a bit of zip and energy
