What a nice suprise. Low neck fill, saturated cork, one hour decant off sediment, browning around the rim and slightly everywhere. Nose of floral notes, cigar box, and spice box, charred oak and also vanillin/ neutral oak, secondary and tertiary notes, cedar, very complex and alluring, keeps pulling you back in. Continued to open further in the glass. Medium to full body, well integrated fine sweet tannins, long finish. I did not expect this from an aged Cru Bourgeois. Still …

Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Burwood) : From Coravin. Pretty, almost jubey, boiled fruit lozenges shows cherry, cedar, dusty spices, freshly tilled earth, a little cellar stink and a tiny smidge of mocha. Savoury, quite dense, brambly fruit, a little fruit sweet core, leathery tannins, touch of mushroom, mocha. Those tannins dry out the finish which has a slight herbaceous harness. Hmm. Interesting. My previous note exactly with the new addition of teriary notes. More complex and pleasing. Quite a delightful wine.

Delightful little bottle. Not blockbuster, but well bought and well stored lesser Bordeaux can give pleasure at an older age. Medium body, slight bricking at the rim, aromas of secondary maturation. Stewed prunes, blueberries, no tannins. 20 to 30 second finish. Exceeded my expectations. Did what it was supposed to and did it admirabley.

Ruby in color lightening to brown on the meniscus. I tasted this wine after it had been decanted at my parents house for over 24 hours. Cedar and cassis on the nose. Tannic and thin in the mouth with a short finish.

Showing some age. A vegetal nose, roast cabbage and prunes. Oaky, soft, plummy fruit, with a nasty tobacco finish.
