2020 base, 1 g/l dosage, 50 months on lees, disgorged September 2025. Blend of pinot noir & chardonnay. Compared to the Vignes de Bisseuil from the same base vintage, this is considerably more open and approachable already. There is a certain roundness to the palate that comes as a bit of surprise considering the minimal dosage. Beautiful. APPEARANCE: Color & intensity: pale gold NOSE: Intensity: medium (+) Aromas: toasted almond, brioche, red apple, wild strawberry, crushed chalk, baking spices, toast, …

Bruised apple, oxidative nuances like straw. Good acidity, and the finish is very long.

Napa Trip; 3/7/2026-3/14/2026 (Napa, CA) : Pale gold color with a hint of blush. Drank a glass plus over an hour with dinner in Yountville. 2021 base, 2gm dosage. Lots of fresh cut red apples and cherry, brisk and full bodied, white flowers and pastry cleam. 92+pts.

Base 2021, disgorged July 2025. A densely packed aroma profile of sour dough and freshly baked bread, pear and bruised apple fruit, smokey and saline minerality. Also adds pressed flowers over time. The palate has a slightly bitter touch, otherwise a nice flow of the acidity. Fine texture.

The palate mousse is rich, round and elegant. The nose shows tangerine, thinned yellow peach, golden/red apples, lemon/lime pulp with a hint of zest, pear, whiff of lemon meringue pie, ginger-ale, graham cracker crust, baguette crust, caramel notes, silvered almonds, some light brioche, pink roses & yellow flowers. The palate entry is beautiful, ripe, rich with lively crisp acidity at first and softens in the glass. Some light oxidative presense. This is a delicious cuvee; There is a nice balance between richness and finesse. great mouthfeel, just enough acid; red cherry, apple, a touch of citrus, dried herbs. This was my second time with this bottling, and this one was even better; I forgot to look at the base vintage and disgorgement date on the first one, therefore I am not sure if that is the reason

This was disgorged in July 21 after 4years on lees. Golden color. Musky, nutty nose with baked apple and berries aromas. Full body, crisp, intense, complex and long. Sweet candied fruit, nutty flavours. Excellent. Can still benefit from further aging.

100% PM, dgt. 10/2024. Ripe apricot, ripe apple, ripe pear, orange peel, fresh parsley, bitter herbs and pickled ginger on the nose. Quite expressive and fragrant, with a high intensity of aromas. The palate adds a lot of lees-influenced flavors (cheese rind, fresh baked bread), though they're backed up by classic PM fruit (ripe melon, kiwi and orange peel). There's a nice mineral streak as well that isn't on the nose, and a bitter, leesy finish that lasts for around …

At a social event, hence only brief notes: Notes of brioche and bruised pear. Scented with herbs and spices. Fine oxidative accent of hazelnuts. The palate is fresh and balanced and mirrors the briochy, yeasty aromas. A great fizz.

Gold, little bit or orange feel, color. Medium plus (one or two notch more) acidity. I sensed orange, pomegranate, cherry more than apple or grapefruit. I liked it.

SF Wine Tasting Meetup - Jan 2026 (San Francisco) : Brioche notes, but maybe more toasted English muffin? Lemon and lime zest. Easy-drinking champagne with some nice complexity as well. Nice start to the evening, before moving onto the "serious" wines (although this is nothing to sneeze at). 88 points.
Taster #6167 · Jan 18, 2026
Home-drinking. Very yeasty nose with early oxidative notes. Zaffron on the palate. Lots of baked apple. Gone are the bubble gum notes that can characterize this Cuvée in youth with more varietal expression. This 2016 disgorgement (2012 base) is still very taut and less evolved than disgorgement years on either side of 13. People reading this note with a recent disgorgement in mind should still go and drink it for this is a reference grower Meunier Cuvée.

Brought by Joel and Kathy to our evening and we decided to pre-game with it before going out to the restaurant for dinner..... Pnp'd and enjoyed over about 1 hour til gone. Nice medium sized bubbles....a very pleasant nose and palate. Nice lemon tropicals. No overbearing brioche or malt. Nice, light mousse....thanks Joel, it was very nice!

Terrific rose. The E-O has a pretty light coppery pink color. In the mouth it is lovely. I mean, the few of us at the table were gushing. The fruit it light strawberry and salmonberry, with an angel cake and scone perception. It was creamy, in a way, but with plenty of light bodied tartness.

Disgorged 1995. Very lively "Piift" upon opening with lots of foam and bottles. So fresh on the nose with dried raspberries, strawberries, fresh rhubarb, hints of mandarine and fish sauce. So elegant and fresh on the palate showing minimum aging. Lively mousse and lingering acidity. Great fun to try.

New Years Day: Vrai Champagne, Ninth Annual Edition (Brad & Marcia's Place, St. Paul, MN) : Pale salmon color. Small pour. Brief note. You know, it's all about how you express yourself. Well this comes off so well and exquisitely balanced; bringing the red fruits, fine mousse, bread dough, crystalline minerality and delicate spicebox to full fruition. Lovely and suave, I love these. 93pts and maybe better.

Such depth and acidity - the combination of low dosage with warmth from the long aging and mild oxidative treatment in fermentation is a wonderful combination.

2018 base. Medium gold at this point. A medium mousse and good bubble persistence. The pronounced nose is sweet citrus and apples, subtle biscuit, plenty of chalk and some saline. The palate is med/med+ bodied, med+ acidity, tiny and persistent bubbles on the palate, pronounced, long, and dense on the finish. For the class and type of Champagne (house intro blend) this is outstanding!

Disgorged Nov. 2014, 52 months on the lees; therefore bottled July 2010 and likely 2009 base. Recent purchase. Very pretty and elegant, delicate mousse, streamlined red fruit with some apply character and light earthy grip. Enjoyable but not a lot of intensity, not quite hitting the heights of this cuvee's reputation.

30 Years of Wine Pages and 25 years of the Wine Pages Forum - A Celebration Dinner (Hawksmoor, Edinburgh) : Lovely All Bran cereal bass note on the nose with some bruised apple and a touch of pear. Lively petite bubbles. Dark gold color. Almond and stewed pear at first nose. Quickly opens. These aromas disappear. And new aromas of Red fruits. Apple. Apple blossom with a touch of honey (apple blossom?). On the tongue a deeper citrus like a sour mango or kumquat. Crisp acid. Melon flavors. There is something…spring moss? As it opens, there is a bitterness or sharpness that develops into green apple.

Silver moon in color under a roiling mousse offering up a bouquet of crisp apple, brioche, and vanilla custard. Lively and rich on the palate with complex layers of flavors. Intense but not weighty. Finishes with a smokey quality. Stunningly balanced. The stream of bubbles never stops. Made from a third each of Champagne’s primary grapes. 12.5% alc. With crab spread. 11.27.25. Highly Recommended.

Pale golden color. Split bottle over 3 hours at Joel Robuchon in LV. Pastry cream, floral, white flowers, ultra fine mousse, clementine, apple, chalk, very fresh, precise, little notions of cherrry. Medium weight, supremely elegant with that crystalline feel. Not the least bit biting or austere, a gorgeous Brut Nature.

This bottle of NV Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru Extra Brut has a base vintage of 2019, was on yeast for 53 months and was disgorged December 2024 (with a dosage of 2 g/l). Incredible bottle. Off the list at Le Pre Catelan. 2009 disgorgement. This was singing from the get go. Somewhat advanced with raisin and fig paste, but some carmelized sugar and bright acidity. 1995 Bordeaux (Piccolino Exchange Square, London) : Based on the 2020. I don’t think I’ve had a 100% Pinot Meunier champagne before. Clearly I’ve been missing something.
