Much better than my first bottle. Nose of blackberries and blueberries, damp earth and some cedar. Grippy tannins, with black cherries and a good balance on the palate.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. In a year of low yields, a 2017 “Riserva” was not made however, we were fortunate enough to get this “Gran Selezione” and, spoiler alert: it’s not a mere consolation prize. The wine pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. No signs of sediment.
