Leather, earth, cigar box, and a bit of dark fruit on the nose. Leather, dark fruit, spice on the palate. Just a bit of dusty tannins, nice acidity, medium body, medium finish. Still going, but probably not much life left. Drink up!

Bravo! 2000 resounds. I could rate this in the context of an affordable second label, but this is a nice product of a superb vintage. Good black fruit on the approach with strong pencil lead accents rounds to a wonderful mouth feel of balanced fruit and a notable finish. Fantastic pairing with wild mushroom risotto. Far from epic, and even more ahead of better growths in lesser years. Won't improve from here, but plenty of fortitude for more bottle time …

For a second wine even in a year such as this, I must concede this isn't young. Bold nose of black fruits, currants, meat and graphite, with perhaps a dash of ginger. A tinge of Margaux violets, but only a tinge. Strongest on the …

Opened one hour which softened the palate and integrated the fruit. Deep and rich with clear markings of Margaux. It continued to improve in the glass. Finish is a little dry. Should continue to age well through 2015

Decanted for 1 hour. A mouthful of rich fruit. Tobacco, leather, chocolate. It's heavy and layered but not a lot of tannins. Good now and should hold up for another 10+ years. I'll try another in 2 years.

Medium body, full texture, even on the tongue, essentially Margaux
