Still very young- berries on the nose - blueberries and pepper on the palate. Feel like new world cab wine. Good now - but better in 5 years.

Plum, tobacco, leather. Great blend of 77% Cab Franc, 14% Merlot, the rest Cab Sauv and Petit Verdot. International by style with Italian tannin. At its peak.

Dark cherry, western plum, tobacco leaves and cigar box, black earth, laurel, lavender, more mineral than expected, tannins and oak touches are very strong, so it is a bit uncomfortable, it seems like it will need long cellaring.

Notably better than my last bottle - dark crimson, some bricking, quite a bit of sediment. Old world cues. This could last for several more years. Overall - good, but not great. Wouldn’t buy again.

Cabernet Franc Global Smackdown (Canoehead Central) : Part of a Global Smackdown tasting of Cabernet Franc wines. Double-decanted (min. one hour) and served blind. Purple with a black core. Fleshy and still youthful. Definitely an oak chassis carrying all this fruit and fine tannins along with unapologetic acidity. Fragrant and fresh nose and an appealing depth of flavour. Vino Loco nailed it as old world but many of us guessed new world, beguiling. There is a lot of runway left …

That’s a tough nose to get past. It tastes better than it smells. Licorice notes. It’s just too harsh for a $100+ wine.

If possible it's even better than the last bottle we had. Overall: 5/5. Simply a great bowtie of wine. No negatives.

1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Dark cherries, oak, and alcohol on the nose. Massive tannins and very Napa like with vanilla, cherries, and ample oak. Typical Italian biting finish. Nice!

A wonderful wine, one that had been on my wish list for too long. This wine grabs your total attention with it's structure, complexity, length of finish, and intensity. Dried cherries, red raspberries, black fruits, floral, cedar and chocolate, and a hint of orange zest.

4th Saturday Group: Uptown Brown Bag (T&L's) : Double blind. Dark color. Aromas of bouillon, black fruit and herbs. More of the same on the palate, with sweet candied fruit. Heightened acidity. Short finish. My least favorite of the flight. Decanted 1.5 hrs. (RH/Spire)

77/14/7/2 Cab Franc/Merlot/Cab Sauv/Verdot. Medium plus nose shows dried herbs, sage, thyme, garrigue, blackberry compote, mesquite, some aged tones, forest floor, mushroom. Palate shows fruit and age together, old cedar, dessicated black plum, lovely tones from that, fresh black layers as well. This is their current release, they hold back nicely. Might not be everyone's style but I love this.

Italian Cab Franc blend. 77 franc, 14 merlot,7 cab sauv,2 petite verdot. This is a jackson family operation and the wine shows the attention to detail. Nice wine Big and bold. Drank via coravin over the last year. I will open the next bottle and decant with a meal. More detailed notes then

Drank over two nights.... Dark, murky burgundy, full bodied Tons of leather and cigar box. Meaty Lots of dark fruit left on the initial taste. Smooth. Tastes like the nose. This has been the best bottle out of the ones i have had in the past. Hands down... Smoking an AVO

Dark auburn color. On the nose this has pronounced aromas of cocoa and stewed tomatoes. The wine has a slight flavor of mint and some bitter licorice notes. However, the tannins on this are abrasive and lend an overall bitterness to the palate. I haven't got enough experience with this one to determine if this will mellow over time, but for now it makes for somewhat rough and unpleasant drinking. Brusque.
