Not as poor as previous examples - still very brown in colour but it didn't have as much of the brown sugar and over ripe fruit as obviously as previous bottles. This one was drinkable - pop and poured it - maybe that's the secret

Very full bodied, decanted and left to itself for 4 hours. Dark, somewhat stewed cherry tones. Burnt brush, sage, black licorice and pepper. Slightly Dumb but still has underlying balance. Not a stunner but I'm on the fence hoping for more next go round. Expected a brighter showing.

First taste was like chomping on a pencil,after about an hour of air it started to come alive, some fruit, dark berry a little milk chocolate, fine grained tannins. Decent finish. However it was not structrued enough and the over use of oak is once again present. Needed a bit more acidity. Decent wine, but as usual an overrated Burrowing Owl wine. This still has the legs for a few more years in the cellar.

This one is drinking better than the last one, much better. There's bottle to bottle variety for you. Stewed plum nose, with just a touch of nose singeing heat. Nice smooth entry, black currant, cedar, leather. Neutral mid-palette, but carries the entry nicely to the fine white pepper tannins which linger for a long time. The acid is in good balance with everything else. I like it, though light for a meritage..

Pulled it out of the cellar, dead cold.. All I got in the beginning was acid, tannins, and a touch of chocolate. As it warmed the bouquet developed into a ripe raisin/prune/black currant mix. Nice, smelled mature but not all granny-panties. Entry was smooth, but a little bit tight and firm overall. Needs a bit more time to warm up. There we go, warmed up, gentle entry, tannins have gotten really fine over 7 years. The acid is in nice …

16/20; Very good. The color was deep and red. The nose had blackberry with a smokey/leathery scent and black licorice. Medium bodied, the taste was wanderfully balanced and the finish long. I really enjoyed it. It could still improve. I'll look out for it in the future.
