Kalinda Zinfandel El Dorado

With the caveat I am not partial to Zinfandel, in my reckoning this is a good representation of the style and grape. It's medium bodied and has a simple yet balanced structure. Juicy and bright, it exhibits floral and cherry notes which are punctuated by a smooth strop of leather sprinkled with a touch of pepper at the end. In the end, the sweet "grapiness" -as with nearly all Zins I've had- is what pushes me away.

Initially opened with florals and clear ripe berries, but evolved with a inky newsprint quality. On the palate it’s medium+ body, with enough acid to keep it balanced, there’s bright berries, some herbs, and that same newsprint quality. This is a screaming value with Zin that features some unique notes and some nuance. Good stuff!
