Not a fan of Schloss Johannisberg; my perception for quite some time has been that they are a highly effective marketing and sales machine that excels at developing and exploiting the brand's international standing, but not quite so good at, well, making wine. Tasted at lunch with Kroemers on the banks of the River Rhine: Pretty color, well balanced, minerally tasting wine. A cut above some of the rather sour and simple stuff tasted at the various "Strausswirtschaften" Everybody in the group liked it.

Color: Light to medium yellow: Nose: Yellow fruit, floral. Mouth: Good expressiveness. A bit short. Fresh and mineral. Fairly simple.

Sucre résiduel, manque de vivacité, mais de beaux arômes. Pas un super Q/P*$$

85-86 Punkte. Weinbörse, after. VDP Gutswein. Guter, sehr jugendlicher Rheingau Riesling trocken. Kabinett-Level. Deutliche Säure. Kann man jetzt trinken aber sehr jugendlich. Etwas gelbe Frucht ganz gut aber nicht groß. Und mir persönlich keine 15,50€ wert. Ende 2018 bis Ende 2023. Höhepunkt: 2019-2021. 12,0% Vol.
