Beautiful wine. Delicate but deep, enchanting and refreshing after 2 hour decant. Perfect match with spring veal stew.

From magnum. Pale garnet with slight reflections of orange. This required a lot of air to blossom but when it did revealed almost regal aromas of dried red cherries, burnt autumn leaves, tar, flamed orange peel, dried roses, and black walnuts. On the palate this is just medium bodied; there is a delicacy here that reminds you that you are not in Barolo, but there is no shortage of tannins - especially in this format - or acidity or intensity. …

Light-medium ruby; aromatic, floral, spice, red fruited; palate is balanced, light-medium bodied, high acidity, balanced alcohol, red fruited, a bit of tamari; finish is medium-long. Very enjoyable even now, with plenty of room for improvement ahead. 93-94 A few hours double decanted: phenomenal balance, excellent complexity, red fruited, floral, absolutely lovely.

Drinking beautifully with a little air and paired with fire grilled steak. Deep aroma and palate of dark cherry earth leather cigar box savory spice amplified in a Zalto burgundy glass. Tart on the front palate. Perfect blend of fruit acid spice and earth to pair with the umami. Medium body. Long slightly tart and tannic mineral finish. Excellent balance. Early in the peak drinking window. 8-10 years more.

Dark violet with some separation at edges. Nose roses, red fruited with some wildness. Palate some dark fruit, mineral. Overall nice depth and a very pretty alternative to barbaresco/barolo. 92 pts

OK, this is good. Decanted and let sit for 2 hours before serving with a ragu of braised/shredded short rib over a stout pasta. The wine started with a strong note of tar that became the roadway for the fruits and spices that emerged with air. A long and persistent finish had us taking our time with the wine. Alto Piedmont does it again. I'll buy some more if I can and let it mellow another few years.

Not much to add to the previous reviewers wonderful notes…. Touch barnyard not noted in theirs…. Unique, delicious, exquisite wine…the kind that evolves and intrigues you..the wine has soul and place…..just delightful…. I need more wines like this in my life !

Takes some time to open up, but very nice with substantial structure for Alto Piemonte. Could use another couple years for the oak to integrate. 14%

Beautiful clear red fruited nose loaded with floral and earthy spicy notes. Cinnamon? Medium bodied, with very clear fruit as it’s calling card. High acid, very tart finish and quite long. Clarity is the center of this wine. Really lovely and demands food, especially rich food for maximal enjoyment. A fine expression of Nebbiolo. I wonder how this will age. Plenty of structure to age nicely I’d think.

Light ruby with slight bricking, consistent with youthful Nebbiolo; aromatic, red berries and spices, roses and some floral, very slight hints of balsamic, very slight herbal; palate is light bodied, high tannins but surprisingly approachable for Nebbiolo, high acidity without being overbearing, medium alcohol (14% on label but likely 13.5%), plenty of red cherry fruits; finish is medium-long. This is an elegant, balanced wine, youthful and yet to develop the complexity of age, surprisingly consistent vintage to vintage. 93, lovely …
