Joel Gott, Merlot, California

For this price point it was a great buy. As a merlot it was full bodied and medium tannins, the fruit was balanced you could taste some black cherries, wild berries and a hint os smoke. This might be my go to summer wine for the BBQ season.

13.9% abv - Received as a gift. Served with Pot Roast, Latkes, and oven baked carrots. Deep ruby red in the glass. Blackberry and Black Currant on the nose, with Blackberry, Plum and Cassis on the palate. Full bodied, and full flavored, with moderate acidity and subdued tannins. Nice round mouth feel. Medium finish, but a slightly bitter ending, which had largely dissipated by Day 2.
