Still going strong, great fruit, balanced acidity, resolves tannin and a nice finish. Impressive for the age.

Better than the '98 I enjoyed back in April. More fruit and finesse with a longer, better integrated finish. These "Mountain Blues" used to be one of my favorites 10yrs. ago. Nice to know they have legs that can hold up to time, if not get a whole lot better.

Layers and layers of fruit. Black fruit, blue fruit, red fruit. Sweet fruit and bitter fruit. Lovely integrated tannins and a finish that lasts and lasts. Very enjoyable!

What a difference a bottle makes. Decanted one hour and much better. Still need to drink now.

Bit of a disappointment, expected more. Still a little hot and now a bit thin. Need to decant and drink now.

Drinking this now, felt like popping a bottle and took this out from the fridge. Still rather darkish purple core with a bricked-over rim. Nose is okay, with toasty oak, sweet blackberry from the Cab, and the slightest undercurrant of leather and meat from the Shiraz. Really strange hovering chemical scents though, kerosene but not quite. The palate is rather all over the place. The tannins have soften, and the remaining wine is rather sweet on the attack, slightly sour …

Very good. Popped and poured. Drank over 3 hour dinner. Maroon with brick red edges. No brett. A little oak and mixed berry on the nose. Tastes of blackberry, eucalyptus and just a touch of oak. Tannins fully integrated making for a really smooth mouth feel. Only 13.8% alcohol, so no harsh edges or finish. Still has good acidity. Went really well with our lamb chops. Drink now or within next 18 months (if you've properly cellared it). It's a …

Black/crimson. Oak and cassis on the nose, with a vegetal note. Warm, nicely oaked, grapey, with alcohol that overpowers into the short finish.
