This was a forgotten bottle and, when I stumbled on it, I was expecting it to be well over the hill, having described the previous bottle as at its peak nearly 11 years ago. The now deep but brilliant amber colour did not reassure but the bouquet on the nose did as it revealed complex aromas of flowers, white fruit with a hint of petrol but no oxidation. The medium+ bodied palate may have been a bit more discreet than …

Surprising deep color of orange-ish gold, more characteristic of Sauternes gave pause; but nose had delightful smells of flowers, apricots, honey and crushed stone. Soft texture and moderate dryness would indicate it's in prime drinking window right now. A very balanced and delicious, mature riesling.

Bravo! This is drinking really well right now. Warm golden color with fragrant spice, beewax and chiseled minerality. Bone dry and saline finish

A delicious Alsace Riesling at its peak, I guess. Quite deep gold tinted yellow. Well developed nose of white flowers, a touch of spice and minerals. Medium+ bodied palate, with white fruit overlaid by floral and spicy aromatics, slightly sweet seeming (could be an illusion due to the aromatics) with minerals, fresh acidity and firm backbone. Very good.

WIML93 Tasted non blind at a wine tasting. Yellow to gold color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of apricot, honey and pistachio. Flavors of apricot, honey, lemon and minerals. Medium acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold. I'm leaning towards drink now.

NO. So, the drinking window is optimistic on this, too deep gold colour indicating a tad too much oxidation, still sharp acidity but the fruit is flat and there is little that is charactistics of the grape. Generally, i am a big Z-H fan, but not for is.

Pale yellow color. No petrol on the nose but a slightly honeyed wildflower scent. Slightly reticent fruit at first. More apple, ripe pit fruit and slight toastiness as it warmed up.

Nose of crushed almonds, waxy pears and lychee. Added notes of honeysuckle and orange. Flavors of tangy pears, apricot core and dried pineapple. Added notes of honey and citrus fruits. Bright acidity, medium body. Drink or hold over the medium term.

Quite a bit richer than the Clos St Hune, as expected. Nice stonefruit and mineral aromatics with citrus oil. While not as over extracted as other ZH's had, this also held nice acidity and overall a nice balance.

A wonderful Alsacian Reisling, but probably my least favourite 'Zind' that I've had to date - It was yellow/gold, medium viscosity, notes of sweet apple, pear and mild petrol on the nose, decent structure, with toned down acidity, a bit sweet on the attack, but drier on the mid-palate, very smooth with nice length (89 Points).

Nice golden color. Nose is more tropical fruit than their standard riesling. Apricots and pineapples in this more so than the apples and lemon. Fuller mouthfeel...not quite oily but close. Hints of the burnt tire/petrol/autoshop component that you typically get in a riesling from the Mosel. Excellent stuff, but frankly I prefer their standard bottling at about $10 less.
