So much fun to check in on this wine after over a year and a half since my last bottle. Drinking really well and showing the immense talent of young Jonas Dostert, not to mention the potential for greatness from this historic grape coming from the steep slopes of the Obermosel. Hint of reduction. Seems like early picked chard. Lean and clean.

This highly talented rising star from the Obermosel truly takes the Elbling varietal to new heights. This is a serious wine that possesses great texture while also boasting bright acidity. Delicious notes of pears and apples lead into beautiful notes of delicately spiced Rainier Cherries and a hint of herbs and citrus. This showed deep minerality while maintaining wonderful freshness. A nice effort to do something different with the Elbling grape. Needs time to open up. Then quite complex nose, with a range of floral and herbal notes. In the mouth really dry, with vivid acidity, low to medium volume, grapefruit, good length.

Bright, herbaceous, and steely. Didn't show the plushness that you can get with Elbling, but had tons of acidity and mineral drive.

Steely lime pith and cooling chamomile, medium length, powdery finish. Not $34 worth, but happy to see a good elbling.
