Tasting like this one went over the hill maybe last year. Opened for Christmas dinner. Went OK with ham, but it was pretty one-dimensional and not at all like prior bottles. Some enjoyed it, but this bottle was sadly and definitely declining.

very nice glass of wine. Relatively soft and rounded set of fruits but still full flavor. Paired well with a cassoulet with some duck breast.

Killer wine from Leslie Rudd. Really coming into its own. Had on a perfect Memorial weekend with friends against a 2017 Foley and a 2021 Cayuse. This was definitely the wine of the night. Dark, black in color. Big, bold but not overpowering. Went wonderful with the meal (BBQ Chicken and roasted potatoes) and had a very velvety finish.

Unfortunately I spent Christmas locked up with Covid and brought some bottles to cheer me up. By the time I opened this one couldn't smell or taste a thing! What a bummer since my brother in law said it was very good! Oh well...

A good accompaniment to a nicely spiced Country Capitan chicken. Fruit was well developed and delicious with the Zinfandel providing a backbone that the other fruits complimented.

Drinking beautifully right now. So well balanced and flavorful, with a long finish. Superb!

Very interesting wine. I would love to drink next to Alban Reva.

I'd never heard of this wine, so had no idea what to expect. What a treat! Tons of dense, dark fruit and with a focus that is rare among field blends.

Intoxicating nose. Cork was basically black. Blueberry compote and blackberry preserves on the nose. Vanilla and plum finish. Hands down the best mixed black wine I've tasted to date

For a field blended wine, this one really was quite good. I have an 11 around here somewhere, and would love to compare it to this one. This wine was pushing into the top half of wines that were enjoyed. Although I will always see Acorn winery as the kings and queens of field blending, this wine had a great concentration for a supposedly black fruited field blend. I forgot the makeup of this wine (there were a dozen others …

First thing you notice is that this wine is dark as night. Definitely a big wine, but nicely integrated as I did not detect any heat or hard edges. Loads of blackberries and dark fruits up front with some red fruits intermingled. Really enjoyed this.

Was impressed with this wine as I had a 2009 days before and it underwhelmed. Nice long decant of this wine for over an hour helped. While classic note of ink, blueberry and graphite are in there once we drank it this wine showed some real depth on the palette and lasted in the tongue for a good 5-10 seconds. Well done

this is a really nice wine...starts off like most normal napa wines with dark berry, blackberry and some vanilla accents...but starts to evolve with more rustic flavors and a lot more super refined elegance. complex and intellectually interesting wine.

Getting past peak, light notes and mild finish. Not the powerhouse I expected but a good wine. Took hours for it to open up.

Wonderful wine. Bordeaux style, slow to open but beautiful, silky when it hits your taste buds. Leslie Rudd just continues to nail it with this wine.

Big dark brooding wine but lacking in sophistication and/or finesse. Needs something like a heavy stew for balance.

HUGE mouthfeel, classic northern Napa or even more so Paso Robles Zinfandel nose. Almost overbearing raspberry syrup nose, with extreme alcohol on the nose (15.5% on label). Lush and jammy, but longer length and balance than one would expect. Must be the other varietals. Don't even try this with anything but barbeque. Showing no signs of aging poorly, will probably hold even longer, but not sure why you'd want to.

Big wine with a somewhat heavy feel. Has a myriad of black fruit flavors and requires hearty food to go with it.
