Retasted after one week under argon gas protection. Today a "root day" according to the biodynamic lunar calendar. Hue turning to ginger. Nose appealling of quince , candied papaya, ripe pineapple juice. Palate rich with exotics jam, baked pine apple pie, white spices and nice lime bitter and hot rhum at the end. Well that's much better than the first ejection.

Pnp on my own, today a "flower day " according to the biodynamic lunar calendar. Delicate pomelo, lime and canided papaya, light tangerine. Smooth according for his warm year, technically dry, still...almost mineral. A seductive style, a sliding new direction for Boxler (?), the recent Vanne 2019 tasting is in the same dressing. Drink now.

Luscious. This has a Kabinett-level, perhaps even Spatlese-, sweetness, but beautiful balance. Lots of autumnal fruit -- musk melon, honey, and pear -- and more weight than its German counterparts. Thanks to Mitch for sharing this bottle.

Opening almost any Boxler is two fold treat: First off, they are great wines and show their origin with such clear, concise and delicious ease. Second, they are hard to find, so its not often I open one and thank you Martin Steinley for keeping offers going them for us in the US. The 20 Reserve is very good. While immediate apparent this is a few notches below a single vineyard Brand or Sommerberg ( I can’t wait to try …
