Licorice and raspberry aromas. This Pinot has a core of mouthwatering red fruit and a bit of smooth white mushrooms. Lively and tart finish.

Austere is a good descriptor here. I had simply PnP and perhaps this needed more air? It never seemed to flesh out enough for me and I actually do appreciate leaner Burgs and PNs. The nose was much more inviting than the palate. At $30, I don't see myself buying this again although, it may put on weight down the road? Pretty tight and unrewarding. Somewhat austere but attractive nose of forest floor/mushrooms, earthy spicy roots, and restrained red fruit. On the palate, underripe red fruit (strawberry and pomegranate?), mushrooms, and gravelly rooty earth, with somewhat overbearing powdery tannins. Good acidity, though the tannins seem to compete with the acid for attention.
