Kurpiowski Mead

Drank over two weeks. Very smooth, though more simply sweet than anything else. Hard to stop drinking.

Being the first mead I've tried, I'm having a hard time figuring out what to make of this. Attractively bottled, this wine pours thick and viscous, leaving almost oily sheets on the sides of the glass. The color itself is stunning: Dark amber with slight pinkish hues throughout. The nose to me smelled a bit barnyard-like, very similar to buckwheat honey. Sweet nose with a slight pungency and berry and floral undertones. Full-bodied and sweet, the wine felt viscous and …
