Did a side-by-side tasting of the 2018 Napa SB and the 2018 ExS SB from Mendocino. Before the tasting I thought I would prefer the Napa over the Mendocino. But I was totally blown away by the elegance and subtle complexity of the ExS. Along with the natural citrus tendencies of this varietal the terror really presented itself. Home run here!!! Meh, nothing exciting here. Perfectly fine with simple lemon, lime, mineral notes with just a touch of grassiness. a little hot on the finish, which makes it less drinkable. There’s a lot of SB out there that’s better for the price.
