Medium to dark purple with minimal garnet. Raspberry cherry with green notes. Palate is blackberry to raspberry with tobacco and cherry. Decanted 1/2 the bottle which knocked down some acid and brought the fruit to front. Try a 2 hour decanting next time.

Nose of blackberry, slight French oak, spice. Medium bodied, good mix of mature tannins and refreshing acidity on the finish. Doesn't strike me as particularly complex, but seems well balanced. Also seems to still have some life in it given the acidity, so that it may still gain in complexity.

Good energy with decent follow thru on day 1. Day 2 The fruit falls off and this bottle became more bitter.

Nose: Some cherries and pomegranate. Some violets, too. Mouth: More expressive on the palate and silky-smooth. It is still holding up well but I guess it is time to empty this bottle now.

Solid wine that is drinking well at present. Flavors of plum and licorice upon opening that turn to cherry and spice with some air. Backed with nice acidity and moderate tannins.

Summer Wines - Syrahs and Pinots ... : A pleasant surprise which has clearly benefited from the extra aging the winery gives it (it's a recent release). Deep expression of red berries with notes of tobacco and spice in an elegant but firm frame. Also not a syrah, but has Rhonish character.

Had a glass upon opening and put the bottle away for 2 days. Much better the second time around. Very well integrated. Picking up blueberries and white pepper. Wife enjoyed on night 2 (too earthly for her on night 1).

Nobody else in CT seems enamored of this, but my second of two bottles 3.5 years apart was just smoking good, even better than when I had young. Beautiful in it's complex maturity. Every few minutes seemed to evolve - all good- over a couple of hours. Way over-achieving for its pedigree, this, if well-stored, should be worth opening this year if you have it.

Still enjoying this effort. Wife enjoys it as well, though not quite as much as the American versions of this grape. A little more earth present in this offering.

not as exciting as previous - what happened to the black tea flavors? rather, now a little disjointed.

Quite a delicious aged grenache - a bit heavy on the black tea and black fruits on the nose, and then red fruids and black tea and spice on the palate. Good power, and smooth enough.

Hot and woody, overpowering the fruit, though what fruit I can see is actually rather cool and fresh. The structure is overblown for the fruit.

Perfectly creditable wine, thankfully still old-world in this Parkerized universe. Wild cherry & cedar on the nose; on the palate, the oak refines away the cloyingness of the grenache while leaving some of the fruit behind, though with a coarse finish. This is in the universe of real wine but is nothing special.

Poured through vinturi and decanted. Raspberry, cranberry, and a little vanilla on the nose. Fresh, tart fruit on the palate. Very tasty.

Popped and poured, and it was getting better as we finished it -- next time I'd decant at least a full hour beforehand. Wish I'd read these notes first.
