This was a beauty tonight from the first sip. Excellent dark fruits, oak nicely present but not overwhelming. Dusty tannins and just the right amount of acidity to keep the balance just right through out the whole 2+ hours of drinking.

Very fragrant and juicy with lots of lively dark fruit and substantial complexity. White pepper, clove and other spices, with leather and honey butter notes show on both the nose and the palate. This is well-structured with energetic acidity and powdery tannins bringing length to the tasty finish. This packs a lot of enjoyment at an extremely reasonable price.

14 years in, this perennially great wine is in its prime. Slightly garnet edges, stewed fruit, coffee, charcoal and leather on the nose. The palate is rich dark Tempranillo fruit up front, tannins and acidity an afterthought. Not a lot of structure at this point, but the fruit is fantastic.

Having this a few years ago I loved it and bought a few more to cellar. Tasting this one it has definitely mellowed out, but there wasn’t much on the nose pallet that stood out. Very enjoyable rioja, but I’ll be targeting the rest of my bottles in the eat future as I don’t think it’s going to improve from here.

Solid, well-aged Rioja that delivers on depth and balance. It’s got rich aromas of dark berries, dried fruit, vanilla, and a touch of spice from the oak. On the palate, it’s smooth and full-bodied, with flavors of black cherry, tobacco, and cocoa, plus well-integrated tannins that give it a nice structure. The oak influence is noticeable but not overbearing, and the finish is long . It’s drinking really well now, but there’s still some life left in it for those …

Coravined -- soft plum like. Silky texture on the tongue. Doesn't yet feel well integrated. Can't really tell if this will age more, but willing to guess that it will.

This was enjoyable but too oaky for my preferences, especially as it presented predominantly as mere woodiness/sawdust with only hints of vanilla, smoke, and cloves. Flavor notes were blended together and hard to distinguish. Bone dry. Soft tannins and low acidity.

Pretty good. Plum, smoke, earth, cedar, leather, caramel, fig, prune. A bit hot. Great length and intensity. Could easily age more and I’d love to see how this tastes in 5-10 yrs. Hopefully the flavors will integrate more.

Deep ruby colour. Sweet dark berry fruit and vanilla on the nose. Palate is concentrated, very Bordeaux-like. Oak and tannin lingers on the finish. A bit wound up currently and will benefit from a couple more years of cellaring. Drink or hold.

While not offensive, for me, the age of this wine is too noticeable on the nose, pushing aside the dark fruit. The palate is bone dry with residual tannins on the finish. So this is a tale of two wines, starting with age but ending aging potential.

Popping aromas of raspberry, black cherry, perfume, dill, and a hint of leather. Flavours of cocoa, ripe black cherry, raspberry, and dried fig with a hint of sweet balsamic and menthol. It has a long finish with a hint of chalky tannins. It pairs so well with chicken Tagine and, surprisingly, with garlic bread. I wish I had another bottle to age, but this was the last one on clearance.

Nose: Floral, shrubs, ripe smashed berries Taste: chalky tannins, good acidity, light - probably low abv, preserved orange peel, iodine, some earthy or even slightly rubbery bitterness, you could convince me it's walnut. This is at a good spot right now for my tastes. It's my one and only bottle, and while I have no regrets drinking this now, I wish I had another to hang onto and revisit 10-15 years from now...for giggles. Overall, this is a very good …

Comes in a nice moderate violet shade, nose shows sweet black cherry and plum, sugary. Drinking and this is not like other Rioja’s I’ve had, very fruity, oak and barrel notes don't show up until the finish I’m used to them being very dry on the finish, this is not that. Medium bodied, fruity, leading to a sour cherry end. Paired very well with grilled chicken. Definite in its prime. One for the decanter, nice on day 1, much better …

Showing well right now, with notes of black cherry, black currant, milk chocolate, and tobacco commingling throughout. There's a healthy dose of oak too that straddles the line but never quite takes over. Surprising freshness, with welcome acidity. This is solid.

Another great "value" from Spain where the price is much lower than the quality of the wine. The wine spent 27 months in French oak barrels and 36 months in bottles. This means that the wine has been under control for 5 years and 3 months. All this for less than €22. And what do we get for this price? First of all – mocha is in the smell, mocha is in the taste. Unbelievable! But wait, there's more. Aromas …

Really enjoyed this gran reserva. I had some doubts if this wine was ready to drink, but after an hour in the decanter it was clear this was singing. Typical gran reserva notes on the nose and palate, all in perfect harmony. In the UK, Beronia is probably the best supermarket Rioja out there. For me Riojas are a real food wine. We had it with a pork stew with peppers and chorizo, which was fantastic. At this age the …

Deep ruby color. A delightfully dark and warm aromatic display of red and black currants, laced with graphite, smoky earth, mesquite, tobacco, grilled meats, notes of mineral and vanilla bean. The palate is rich and saucy but really fresh and inviting, with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity. The dark currant and plum fruit is tangy and complex, and mixed with notes of loamy earth, stony minerals, tobacco, anise, nuances of oak and graphite. The deep compote of fruit blends so …

Really nice wine. Intesting that this wine stayed a long 5 years in wood barrel. Taste rich and really smooth at the same time, maybe even too smooth. I didn’t feel the need to give it decantation time, I was actually amazed buy how this bottle was a pop and pour one. I think it’s my best rioja so far

This needs some in the decanter, as its almost painfully fullbodied in the beginning. But works fine with barbecue. Plum and spices on the nose. Darker berries on palate with nice sweet spices. Really big and a long finish with a lot of dryness, that for me doesnt feel that balanced. Theres some quality here and you might like it better than me.

15 minute decant - minor sediment. Lots of sweet oak more similar to American than French. Leather, smoke, earth and currants on the nose. Medium bodied with some ripeness and lots of red fruits, perhaps some bitter cherries and tobacco on the finish that also features a twang of acid. Probably either needs a couple hours of decant, or another year or two in the cellar for peak pleasure.
