Lelarge-Pugeot Coteaux Champenois Rouge de Meuniers

Medium ruby in the glass with red and black fruit so intense, I could smell them as I poured the glass. Black cherries, plums, red raspberries dominate with subtle notes of dried herbs and leather, forest floor, and a chalky minerality. On the palate, the darker fruit dominate, followed by leather and cedar, and an earthy, mushroomy finish. Tannins are present but quite fine-grained.
