Kellerei Kaltern Caldaro Lagrein Lareith

Ok, no one would probably consider Lagrein to be a noble variety. However, this one is quite impressive. In a blind tasting I would have guessed left bank bordeaux. It really reminds me of the Leoville Barton 2004 I had like half a year ago. Just the rather short length makes it clear that this is not a classified growth. The balance between fruit and the spicy and mineral core is just amazing. Insane QPR. Will definitely buy again.
