Domaine Pierre Guillemot Savigny-lès-Beaune Dessus Les Gollardes Blanc

Half. Very complex with classic Chardonnay characters in the lime oil register and some sesame cracker bass notes. The Pinot Blanc adds a mountain stream minerality and a persistent creaminess. With air there's just a touch of pear skin too. Palate is dry and more-ish. It opens with grapefruit pith and more of the sesame cracker, this latter element builds through th mid palate with some tart apricot kernel. Really very savoury. Interesting, not bad

White #3. 91 today, 92-93+ in the future. So many layers to uncover on this one, this was way too young. Oak was balanced, but fairly noticeable (for Burgundy) with varying degrees of preference amongst our group. What mattered to me was that despite the oak never quite going away, layers of aroma and palate kept peeling back each time I returned. Honeysuckle, bergamot, increasingly floral but really nice and clean.

Orange peel, apple and stone, pure and lively, with a satiny texture. Impressive for this level and price point.

Chard and Pinot Blanc. Very cool wine to drink. Pinot Blanc shows through. High acidity, will age a long time. Great to drink now put will put on weight and complexity with age.
