The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like plum . It tastes like intensity ripe plum, forest floor, espresso with pepper, oak and black pepper. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine is well balance . The wine has low acidity.

Discovered bottle. Kept well-chilled. Pop and poured. Screwcap. Nose is clean, medium- intensity, with aromas of pepper spice, dark red cherry, blackberry. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of mild pepper spice, dark red cherry, blackberry, plum, coffee powder. Hints of menthol. Short finish. Quite pleasant on the palate with some good notes here and there. Nothing really much to complain about here except the short finish. …

Opened and let set 45 minutes. Pleasantly peppery and mildly sweet. Good tannin finish. Having with stuffed tenderloin with dill, spinach, and hedgehog mushrooms. Still mid 80's score wise.

Wine was full and round early on but faded as the night wore on. Fruit was present throughout but the finish was a little short. Definitely a nice wine that drank above it's pedigree though.

Sweet red fruit, medium body not too long, very clean, fresh fruit flavors, perfectly balanced acidity. Perfect with seared mint lamb chops with garlicky couscous

I found this to be a well-balanced wine, medium bodied, with a good amount of mostly black fruit but softened by some cherry tones. Tannins were moderate with a long finish. I truly enjoyed this bottle, and it went well with some beef lasagna.

Balanced and appealing, albeit nothing that makes it stand out. Good depth of fruit, acid and soft tannins in support, may well improve over the next 2-5 years, but with (presumably intentionally) no rough edges, it's certainly easy to drink now. For what you pay for it, this does overdeliver.

Wood, spicy, red fruits, black chocolate, very complex wine. Not the perfect balance, but inclined towards my taste :) Could be the best drinking age for it.

{screwcap, 13.5, ~A$9} Solid garnet, although not truly dense. Fresh youthful nose of raspberry jam and banana ester. Vague vanilla/varnish note. Diffuse, quite soft palate of anonymously ripe fruit, with just a little residual sugar to paper over any cracks. Just medium-bodied, and with an increasingly candied, short finish. Little tannin and minimal acid. In the purest sense of the term it's quite well-balanced, but there's not a lot to balance. Drinkable commercial quaffer, although no more than that.

Said to drink by 2005, we just drank in 2011. I think I need to starting holding wines longer, this wine was really nice, we (the 4 our us) enjoyed it to the last drop. I think the cost was like $8 years ago, but I sure tasted like something $20+. (We've had it at about 60 since we bought it......)

Drink from a 187ml bottle that comes free with wines purchase. Medium ruby red, it has a very light nose with faded hints of fruits and berry. Light to medium bodied, with cherry and hints of sweet fruits. It has good acidity that make the wines taste fresher. Not bad at this price point and there is some finish with soft tannins.

First of the three blind shirazes.. and 100% guessed correctly. This was served in good company and was clearly the weaker of the wines. Not bad by any means, just not as good. Straightforward flavours, little complexity; quite pleasing.

I made a fantastic borscht today and thought long and hard about what wine to pair with it. The basis of the borscht was fat, sour and salt with well done meat. I decided on this wine because i thought the sour element of the soup would bring out the underlying fruit. I also hoped that the acidity of the wine would cut the oiliness of the borscht leaving a smooth fruit dominating red in the mouth. It was a …

Dark red, approaching blood-red. Black fruit on the nose mixed with black pepper and lots of alcohol. A bit sweetish on the front, immediately vegetal and a bit bitter thereafter, with a peppery finish. Not bad for an everyday BBQ wine.

Wonderful expression of Aussie Shiraz. Full bodied and rich, yet also balanced with tasty notes of ripe plum, black cherries, and aided by additional flavors of smoke and tar. Definitely better than your average fruit bomb out of Australia, especially at this price point. Would highly recommend.

Popped & poured. No discernable nose from the bottle; odd. Not corked but past its peak for sure. Some tannic grip but very little flavor. Light & summery, with some eucalyptus and a hint of pencil. Definitely American oak. No discernable finish, either. Does not improve with air. Takes me back to college, though. If you have any, drink it now, but go ahead and drink something else first.

The wine still feels young and could/should be cellared for a few more years. The Score: At $12 this …
