Bodega Catena Zapata Cabernet Sauvignon Historico D.V. Catena

PnP. Upon pouring, there are blackberry notes but quite muted. The nose reveals more complexity with about 2 hours in the glass. Probably needs more time.

This Catena 2021 Cabernet enters crisp and sharp, but very Cabernet tight. Classic red fruit profile with substantial tannins. Should smooth out nicely with more time. Close to full bodied. Leaves tannin and graphite with tart cherry on the finish.

Smooth Blackberries Medium body

Vin Chicago Pickup Party & Tasting (Woodridge) : Deep color. Black fruit and barrel spice aromas. Much of the same on the palate, with red fruit in the finish. Slightly firm tannins but there's plenty of fruit to balance them out. Very nice. 88-89 pts.

Nice spiciness and slightly sweet.
