Cims Porrera (Peralada), Priorat, Classic

Decanted for 2 hours. Deep ruby red, almost black in colour. On the nose you get a heady explosion of dark fruits as well as some herbaceous notes. On the palate it's very full bodied, with medium tannin and medium acidity. There's a creaminess to it which is quite satisfying. Flavours of black cherry, dark plum along with some sweetness. Another note I read elsewhere described it as having a port-like finish, and I would have to agree with that. …

Clear, inky black with purple rim, sparse and super slow tears. Clean, full intensity, with aromas of blackberries, stewed blackcurrants, tomato juice, Hawthorne, Lea and perrins, and black liquorice. Dry, med+ tannins, med- acidity, full body, med+ alcohol, full intensity, with further tastes of stewed plums, mulberries, black olives, slight caramel, beef stock, peppercorns, and dark chocolate. This has everything and perfect finish.
