Still drinking quite well, 91-92pts. Perhaps best by 2024 or so

Drinking well, consumed over two days both were excellent. First whiff popping the bottle is warm milky berry yogurt. Smooth tannins, luscious palate, with soft tones of dried fruit developing. Astonishing persistence, bravo. Do these still make it to the US? Been following 2010 Twelftree lineup for 6 years and would say best to enjoy now, and will hold strong a few more years. I see these going for $80-100 now, that seems a little excessive but $50+/- no problem.

The 2010 Tweftree releases, a side project of Two Hands (I believe?), are QPR legend. Difficult to fault objectively - they're long-lived, complex, balanced, lively wines that also happen to be crowd pleasing. Perhaps that's the fault, they lack geeky seriousness. The Grenache Mataro is not the strongest in their 2010 pack, but still overachieves: balancing sweet red fruit, mentholation, Syrah meatiness, fig, cacao. Drink now.

Fun, plump grenache for my 300th cellartracker review!! This was one of those validating wines that was /exactly/ what I expected it to be. A very ripe, heady, nose with the pungency of good Barossa shiraz, but with considerably redder, brighter fruit from the grenache, where a shiraz would be more purple/black. Nose also showed an extremely subtle but interesting meaty tone, sort of a sweet glazed meat such as pork belly, as well as maybe lavender. Very subtle, but …

Nose of stewed plum, rhubarb, and violet, with background notes of oak and charcoal. Powerful palate, with concentrated fruit, moderate acidity, and strong, fine-powdered tannins. Stewed, jammy flavours of plum, raspberry, and liquorice, bitter notes of cocoa and black tea, and hints of basil and candied mint.

Drank @ the Aldo Sohm wine bar in NYC. This was like your standard Aussie - really holds its own without any additional food needed. Very easy to drink, low tannin, good fruit, nice spice. Mostly red fruits. Good not great wine, but really enjoyed.
