Leroy Weekend in Michigan; 8/1/2025-8/3/2025 (Asian Spice House - Buchanan MI) : Pale red color implies this will be a lighter styled wine, but there is real intensity of red fruits with charming spice and sensational balance. So well crafted, seeming like an ideal representation of the 2017 vintage. Great young. but I was then very disappointed by the Barolo.

Just awesome pure and lifted red fruit with lovely floral notes. Light and airy but with plenty of flavor and grip on the long already finessed finish.

Roagna Horizontal 2017 Part 2 (Yan Ting) : Bottle decant for about 7 hours. Seemly darker in colour compared to the Barolo. Heady bouquet of red cherry, lot of roses going on, touch of tar and of minerality. On the palate, high acid, fine tannins with finish that seem to go on.

Like the straight Pajè, the VV is a young wine of poise and big dimension, a wine that you can clearly experience and drink in layers and levels. It shows a beautiful inner sweetness, surrounded by ethereal, floral tones and plenty of aromatical breadth. Rose petals, ripe red currant, spice and blood orange peel are placed between strong, noble structural elements. A very balanced Barbaresco with a conclusive youthful harmony.
