Tasted as part of a 2013 7H Cab horizontal.

Only a 30 minute decant. Forest floor and soil was the strongest aroma, which did pull back as we neared the end of the bottle. Cherry and blueberry fruit on the nose and palate. More savory than I expected with leather, chocolate and a bit of sourdough. Forest predominates. Balanced with Med+ length. Not sure this will improve with further age, although the tannins are still quite present.

Decanted for 1/2 hour. This is drinking quite nicely already. Deep ruby color. Incisive nose of flowers, peppers and the sea shore, with a tiny hint of coffee. You would not think all of that could be integrated, but it is. The tannins linger in the mouth, but not too much. Steely finish caps it off.

Bramble fruit and lots of red cherries, and a purity there, lean but with lots of flavor.

This one features a core of dark fruit (black currant, blackberry). Upon entry it has a nice floral characteristic which I find unusual for a Cab. The finish features tons of dark chocolate. A nice change of pace if you're looking for something different than the typical Napa Cab (not that I have anything against Napa).

Big and dark and brooding. Did I just say that? It's true. Fantastic wine.

That big, beautiful red fruit nose. And rich across teh palate. Rather darn tasty.

Good wine. Thin in the finish when first opened. Filled out better with time. Just not what I expected for the price of this library wine. I had a 2002 Merlot from this winery that was fabulous. This let me down.

Two Kilpsuns from Seven Hills (1991 and 2007) (Seattle, WA) : The cork crumbled to bits, so I decanted the wine once I got enough of it out. Advanced appearance, but still plenty of color. The nose opened up before the palate. Earth, tobacco and cassis with some green herbal notes. This was a bit shy at first, but when it opened, wow... Beautiful mocha and bing cherry, followed by black fruit. Still full bodied with plenty of structure intact. …

Nice Walla Walla cab very fruit forward, some would say fruit bomb. It was a fruit bomb compared to the Pina cellars cab we had at the same time.

This was a great bottle ... it should have been saved for a few more years.

Around the World in a Cab(ernet) (Farpointe Cellar) : Nice plum and cocoa aromas on the nose, plus some raspberry, vanilla, and spice. The palate had loads of dark fruit and spice, mixed with a touch of oak. The finish was very long.
