Domaine Treloar, Motus, Cotes du Roussillon

The wood notes have now fully integrated making this an exemplary fullish bodied and brooding Mediterranean wine showing showing velvety texture, rich fruit more complex and less overtly brambly than before coupled with leather, spice, pepper supported by the right balancing acidity, ripe tannic structure and a decently long finish. Very good. I wish I had more bottles.

When I tasted this wine in the grower's presence in its third year, evidence of its oak ageing on the nose and finish was very clear but such was the wine's rich youthful substance that it didn't trouble me and I was confident that it would integrate with time. Dark and brooding but approachable in a way that young Bandol isn't. I wish I had more of this.

You really do have to have this with food to enjoy it properly. Possibly still a little early for the wine, but straight delicious now anyway.

Quite Oaky nose, olives Big mouthfeel, tannic Supple, vry dry, powerful but not overblown Lots of leather, dried meat Really superb. The same meaty animal nose as the 06, but feels tighter and less giving. The black fruit and meaty flavours on the palate are a little hidden under the youthful structure. Definitely needs more time.

5th btl from a case of 12. Previous bottles were pnp, I now know that without a decent decant that these btls were wasted: at the time I thought they were disappointing due to being closed. Dark fruit nose with liquorice, olives, slight herbs, chocolate and wood. Fullbodied and fruity with good structural balance. There's just so much extract bringing the chewy feel. Liquorice, herbs and spicy wood. Lengthy. Pretty nice stuff! Still somehow the Three Peaks feels better on 2010. But it's nice to see how this evolves.

Very dark ruby, almost black coloured. Decanted a couple of hours before drinking, on decant the nose is lovely and meaty with a powerful smoky bacon aroma. A few hours later it has the exact aroma of Quink Ink; really reminding me of being at school. Plump and ripe but structural with fine dry tannins. Second time i've tried this wine and I can't help feeling the first bottle was knackered or my tastebuds were - just lovely stuff - previous reviews had made me think this might be austere or inaccessible but nothing like the truth - well put together wine with length and depth - better on day 2 as well.
