Olsen Estates Olsen Estates Syrah Edythe Mae Vineyard, USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley

A very smooth drinker, with tasty dark fruit along with plenty of cedary oak. I thought that the oak dominated the palate a little too much.

Heven't been drinking much syrah lately, but this one was a pleasure. Dark purple. Plenty of dark berry fruit mixes with a little smoke and some nice midpalate spiciness. At first it seemed a little hollow on the midpalate but it filled in nicely with some time in the air. I think that with a little more time this will be a beauty.

Olsen has shut down, and is going back to just growing grapes, as in the past. Grab this now before it is gone.
