Somewhat forward oak on opening - not the norm for Eyrie. Air and short decant helped, but still seemed a bit disjointed. Not bad at all, but the woody finish was not expected.

This was poured blind in a flight of four Chardonnays. Not decanted. Very pale yellow...no obvious signs of age from its color. The nose was pretty shy and really didn't open until some time later. On the palate, however, this was so concentrated and delicious with stone fruit and lemon zest flavor and a long, weightless finish. This was outrageously good and was my WOTT, edging out a fantastic 2013 Liquid Farm Golden Slope.

Outstanding QPR. This had deep minerals and orchard fruit with some nutty wood tones. At peak or will be soon. Best over the next 2-3 years IMO

Clean, lovely fruit. Acid balance near perfect. Pretty, but good length. Superb food wine.

Good QPR. Starting to show just a little age.

Deep gold color. Flowers and some spice on the nose. Some tropical hints on the palate with great acidity and smooth, long finish. Can easily go another 3-5 years.

This lovely wine presents bright pear and pineapple against a backdrop of light cream with a chalky mineral note and very subtle smokiness. This leans toward the Burgundian style of Chardonnay.

Delicious; stellar value for Chardonnay; the nose shows ripe pear, peach skin, red apple, mineral, hints of honeysuckle and jasmine, just a touch of spice. The palate is perfectly balanced with great fruit, lovely spice and mineral notes and very good depth yet buoyed by lovely freshness. Still definitely young, but hard to resist.

Fine oak underlies a medium-bodied Chardonnay with terrific balance of fruit and acidity. Has the depth of fruit of a 2014, but a precision and complexity that is rarely present for a standard release. Excellent. Will improve. A nice take on a ripe vintage, preserving the finesse and balance of what Oregon can do.

Wonderfully balanced; this has seen oak, but the crisp fruit flavors still come through.

I'm not a huge fan of the 2014s, but after grappling with this wine over a couple of nights, I've come to enjoy it. As with most Eyrie wines, it has personality and gives me something to think about, and that alone makes it worthwhile. On the nose there's a strange tropical element along with a faint sense of the Dundee funk. The palate follows through on this promise, with a strangely lean wine for the vintage. I would say …

This is really tasty stuff, still on the young side. Certainly a riper version of Eyrie than I've tasted recently with a big nose of ripe pear, baked lemon, pineapple, and a hint of apricot. There are hints of wet stone, fresh hay, and just a hint of spice/lees notes. The palate is rounder and richer than some prior wines I've tasted, but still has lovely balance and energy. A lovely example of a Chardonnay from a warmer vintage that …

Very nice. Let a case sit around a bit and it helped. The wine was bright, with good acidity and a nice restrained finish. Plenty of life left in this wine. Will likely rate higher if it ages well.

Light to medium yellow color. The nose is quite distinct with flinty minerals, and citrus. Mouthfeel is very bright with lots of acidity. On the palate the citrus expresses as grapefruit more than lemon curiously. With food like a lightly spiced shrimp dish the grapefruit fades and you get some more tropical notes. It went well with the shrimp. nicely done wine that will improve a bit with a few years in bottle I think given the acidity.
