Well past most reviewers aging expectations but while the fruit was very subtle the overall experience was a lovely wine that aged well and matched with a half duck. Interesting to note that this is probably my oldest bottle with a “Diam” cork. Several podcasts as well as actually opening bottles has convinced me that Diam (with its 3, 5, 10 and more aging label) is a great efficient eco friendly use of cork.

30 minute decant, and this really opened up. Seems to be at its peak. Very well balanced with buttery taste, evident but not overwhelming fruit, mildly noticeable alcohol, nice long finish. Nice nose. Medium on the mid-palate.

Big jammy fruit and spice. Nice wines but a little unsubtle.

Clickberry, Clackberry . . . pick me a blackberry! What a nose on this wine! Flavors of blueberry and blackberry . . . finish is molasses and then chocolate. Silky texture. A pleasure from start to finish. Salud!

This was an intriguing wine that kept changing in the glass the longer it sat. Rich nose of blackberry and pepper. Soft, but intense flavors of blueberry and molasses, even a touch of soy. Well balanced. Very enjoyable. Salud!

I let this bottle decant for about 90 minutes before diving into it. The nose is dominated by blueberries and freshly baked bread - very seductive nose. It doesn't have as much spiciness as the rockin 2003 vintage, but it still delivers. Extremely silky, but not thin at all. In fact, it comes across VERY dense. Might be a hair on the young side. Taste has blueberries, pie crust, black pepper, and clove (similiar to what I remember from the …
