Coal Pit Pinot Noir

Not comparable to your average or classical Pinot from Central Otago, the 2009 Coal Pit Pinot is massive and a bit heavy, exhibiting strawberries slowly heating in the morning sun. Palate is medium to full bodied and full of black pepper (!) but also well balanced. I wrote "lots of everything" in my tasting notes and this is the best explanation of this pleasant acquaintance.
