Beautiful dark ruby: opaque at the core, pellucid at the rim. An enigmatic nose, something like cherries dipped in dark chocolate. The palate is beautifully integrated: lots of ripe dark-cherry fruit, fine tannins subtly handled, a whisper of acidity in the background for balance. Vanilla on the long, soft finish. Sadly, this is no longer imported into the UK (not for the moment, anyway) so if you see a bottle, grab it. I think 2028 would be a good date …
