Vallet Freres Fixin La Croix Blanche

Darker in hue than most reds - or maybe all - that I've tried from this producer. Still only dark ruby, though, and with a wonderful crystalline clarity. Immediately attractive nose: generous fruits of the forest, with something subtly smoky or woody underlying. On the palate, superbly balanced, with elegant fruit, fine tannin, good acidity (as always from Vallet Freres) and a long finish.
