Like others we got the initial funk on the nose but for me it added an interesting element to the wine rather than being too distracting.

a lovely wine, and I hope I have the patience to cellar the other a bit longer: initially a bit funky, I even thought corked, then it really blossomed into a wild fragrant and muscular wine that mellowed nicely over 48 hrs.

Nice fruit-driven and pleasing to drink. Not very Rhone-y let alone St Jo.

Very pure fruit and a great expression of Syrah. Unfortunately, this bottle was masked by a little too much Brett for my tastes. Improved on the second day.

Nice mix of acids and berries. Very bright. Short on the finish.

Amazing zing that wakes up your palate. Minerality, spice and some clean funk. An extremely pure and enjoyable wine that was a big hit with a very diverse group of palates

Huge and very funky nose - open for business. Gun powder, violets and barnyard - later some peppery aromas and raw meat. Stunningly beautiful nose. On the palate it's elegant and perfectly balanced. Light to medium bodied. Incredible depth, keeps stabbing at the taste buds with new impressions. The emphasis is on elegance, balance and complexity. Modest acidity and very agreable tannins. More of a picnic wine de luxe than a blockbuster - in other words, not at Parker wine, …
