Georg Breuer, Nonnenberg Auslese Goldkapsel, Rheingau

Drank this last night at Ola with my spouse to celebrate a special occasion. Gold in colour with a concentrated notes of honey, apricot, peach and nuts on the nose. On the palate the wine balances sweetness with fresh acidity. The viscosity and intensity matched with the churros and chocolate cake very well. Overall, this wine is great!

Drank this at home tonight to celebrate the 7th day of the lunar New Year. Sweet, lush and sensual. Nose of petroleum fading away quickly, replaced with honeysuckle, honeycomb, peach and apricot notes. Smooth and long lingering finish.

Drank this at Chin Lee Restaurant to celebrate my father's birthday. Dark gold in colour with a very sharp, floral nose and full with botrytis notes. Heavy on the palate presenting notes of honey and nectar and honeycomb and rambutan. Balance is somewhat off today for this bottle but nevertheless this is a well aged Auslese which paired very well with the orh nee and well liked by the crowd.

Drank this with a very close colleague at Hotel Re! Wine was golden in colour with a very nice bouquet on the notes. Floral notes with a whim of perfume. On the palate this wine is rounded, very polished and mature, smooth, with notes of ripe peaches, honeydew, cantaloupe, honey, lime and oranges. Smooth, long finish with sweet, long notes. Paired well with chocolates. Very sensational and pleasurable drinking this wine, and shows what a good wine maker can do …

Good but strange. Very developed color and nose, looks and smells at least 25 years of age. In the mouth more correct young sweet auslese. Extremely huge and dense auslese with lots of botrytis, probably at least beerenauslese oechsle level? Not all that elegant and resembles more a Tokaji or Sauternes. Disappointing from Breuer.

2011 Special Session 3 - Mid week lunch : Alcohol :: 7.5% AP #6. This Medium golden liquid display intense aromas of mineral, petroleum, dried apricot and peaches, chrysanthemum, pineapple and touch of Bortrytis spice. Pineapple, peaches and apricot on the mid palate with some depth but rather fleshy and monolithic. Medium length finish. Need times.... 88-90?
