Nose dominated by red cherry fruit. Well balanced, easy drinking. Bright red fruit and a touch of grip. A little floral lift and a spicy roasted coffee flavour on the dry finish.

For the price it’s worth a go. Cherry on the nose and a bit of plum in there it seems.Doesn’t need too much time to give you what it has. I don’t think it’ll change much. Once again for the price it’s worth a try.

very grippy, heavily tannic. inky, reminiscent of cahors or even sw france, but without the same herbal qualities. definitely decant--lots of sediment. this was fun to drink, and probably needed the 15yrs to rest--could likely have gone further with age.

Drank alongside the 05 TR Perlato and 05 TR Giusto. This was the winner. Great dark cherry sangiovese fruit, some tobacco leaves, pepper. This was quite polished. While the tannins were gone this is still holding up and likely will still be good in 3-4 years.

Inky dark, plum and black cherry. Definitely modern style but very nice if you aren't looking for traditional Italian. Mouthfilling.

Dark brick/purple in colour, with oak notes, plums, smoke and cherry on the nose. More oak on the palate, with rich earthy cherry fruit and a failry short finish. A little too modern for my tastes, and a little too much oak for my liking. I thought it would have subsided after 7 years, but no luck. OK, but not my style (B+).

Hawks's 40th : Deep ruby colour. A nose of ink, barbequed duck in hoisin sauce, beetroot, cherry and toasty oak. Rasping tannin across the palate, but the length is good and there is rich fruit lurking. I feel that this has the potential to improve over the next 10 years as the tannins soften and it takes on some complexity.

Horribly overoaked, overextracted, over-alcoholic, no finesse at all. What a shame, this used to be so good until they changed the recipe.

Diep rode kleur. Veel indrukken in de neus. Rijp rood fruit wat leer, wild tonen en ook chocolade. In de smaak stevig tannines met veel inhoud en kracht. Licht fruitig en ook wat aardes tonen.Lange afdronk. Mooi glas

Nice juicy Sangiovese. This winery is brilliant. At every level, the wines rock. I am not a huge fan of Chianti. To me, this wine is what Chianti should aspire to be. There is excellent acidity to match up to a grilled bone-in rib steak. But the fruit is so much more full and ripe than you get with most Chianti. Just super.

Med ruby, slightly opaque, aromas of cherry, toast, earth, savory herbs, flowers, orange, sour cherry, mint, b3, a3, t4, beatiful perfumed fruit, with very firm structure, intense drying tannins on finish, has potential!, tar, mint, d2, lots of tar, mint, black cherry, smoky wood, b3, a3+, t4, nice floral/fruit flavor very tannic at moment a bit hot, sharp, could come around w/age
