Has held up well and is drinking nicely with honeyed fruit, yellow color and long sweet finish, although could use a bit more acidity. Crowd pleaser with huge peking duck feast on New Year’s Eve.

Mürber Apfel, Kandis, Schmelz, Viskos. Könnte dichter im Körper im sein und einen längeren Abgang haben. Aber besser als meine letzte Flasche. Kann noch recht lange, wird aber nicht mehr zulegen.

Not enough acid. Unlike previous bottles this had an off taste, though the bottle seemed technically sound. Not deemed worth drinking.

Fantastic stuff! Honeyed apricot & stone fruits. Well balanced w/ good acidity. Compellingly drinkable.

Deep gold in colour. Shows piercing aromas of sweet lemon, apricot jam and honey against a backdrop of honeysuckle and linden. So brilliantly textured with a gentle creaminess and lift from energizing acidity. So long and lingering.

Mature nose with a hint of petrol. Golden color, thick and luxurious. Stone fruit, brisk acidity, long finish, almost like ice wine . Great example of aged riesling .

A lovely birthday lunch with Vouvray, Bordeaux and a Riesling. (David's.) : Extremely ripe and viscous and bursting with ripe mango, pineapple, orange citrus and apricot flavors and aromas. Plenty sweet, but a little unfocused and it could use more acidic lift as it comes off as a bit ponderous. A-/B+ .

San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline, 10/6/2012 (Carlsbad, California) : Don't know if this was the "Goldkapsul" or the regular bottling. Clear light golden-honey color. Delicious aromas and flavors of banana oil, pine needles, apricot, honey, nectarine, candied tangerine peel. Tropical and exotic, unctuous and hedonistic. My #2 and group's SECOND PLACE.

popped and poured. color straw. nose intoxicating fruit and botrytis. palate shows super-rich very ripe fruit. a little more RS than acid leaving this feeling a bit unbalanced to me, but great length on finish. nice but not amazing.

Plesantly surprised. Nice honey and botrytus. Good residual sugar without being syrupy and some typical Riesling acidity to balance. Bought more as a result. Only complaint is an initial musty smell that blew off quickly. No noticeable mold on the cork, but it was slightly moist on the outside (exposed side under the foil cap). 750ml bottle

From 375. Pleasant golden color. Nose of grilled pineapple, toasted marshmallow, grilled apricot, petrol, and that twinge that promises botrytis funk. Pleasant medium acidity, sweet golden and yellow fruit, some dried and some fresh, full mouth feel with an expansive mid-palate such that one can tell, when it mellows, that it will bring something special to this wine. Very long botritized finish as reported by a previous taster. Man, this is good stuff. I should buy more. I really like …

Intense dried fruits on the nose, especially dried pineapple, pear, mango and papaya, all covered in honey (obvious botrytus) Med ++ acid on the nose held up the honey and dried fruits from the nose, with the dried pineapple coming in strongest, followed by some cantaloupe, straw, pepper and cooked pumpkin.

Quite sweet of course, ripe yellow flavors, some viscosity. There's acid enough to keep it from being cloying, though not as much as I'd like. Lots of Botrytis, a little too much on the finish for my taste. Not sharply focused. Still a baby and possible it will get better, but probably best to enjoy it now for the sweet amd tasty ride. Glenna and Albert both liked it better than I.
