Honeyed, floral, delicious. Didn’t find this too hot, even at near room temp was still delicious.

2 Sauternes wtih ST : Smells like a Bordeaux Blanc! Key-lime-pie (pyrazines, oak), with only a hint of saffron. Not super botrytized but very lovely. honeyed and syrupy with a shock of lime cream on palate. Medium length. Exuberant. Joyful. Sunshine in a glass.

Pretty good dessert wine. It does leave an alcohol-dominated aftertaste.

Winery: Chateau Roumieu-LacosteVarietal: Semillon Area/Appellation: Sauternes/Bordeaux FranceVintage: 2006 Price: $ 45.00 Color: Burnished amber Legs: all over the place Nose: burnished fruits and varnish, amber, dried honey, oak, wood, Palate: more of the same, Finish: quite solid and oaky, almost riveting Comments: This wine has confused me from the beginning. High scores from Spectators and Enthusiasts but yet is really restrained and tight as if it is waiting for something Score in terms of Vintage: 88 Score for the Wine: 89 …

Light gold. Apricot, honey and something else which is pleasant but hard to define - a pasture not far from the sea?? Mouth-filling sweetness balanced by just enough acidity to finish well.High on the enjoyable scale.

A nice surprise, served by the glass for a song and well worth it. Pear, honey, a touch of sweet herbs, just enough acidity to keep things in check. Won't be long lived, I think, but a heckuva a value if you see it.

Nice, honey and flowers on the palate. I was spoiled in that I had a glass of Chateau d'Yquem at a restaurant just prior to this, the comparison is a little hard (100 point d'Yquem). Still, this was nice, and would buy it again to have around the house for the right occasion.

Nice subtle nose. Has a bit of an apple component. Nose is enjoyable, palate is balanced, smooth, but simple. Decent if found at a good price.

Fairly dry, waxy and dull. Good deal botrytis with dried out mature fruit.

nice bang for your buck. Nose is more complex than the taste with some herbal, even mint, notes that get lost in the syrupy orange rind&apricot preserve loveliness that is the soul of this wine. Makes me want to try their Barzac, which seems to be the more popular wine, looking at the reviews from other CT trackers.

Subtlet hit this one square on the head, I really enjoyed the fresher, brighter take that this desert wine took. That sweet creme brulee is mixed with some tropical fruits, think pineapple and mango. Rich smelling and tasting, light but not thin on the palate, nice acidity throughout. Has a finish that is on the shorter end of most Sauternes I have had but that isn't a bad thing, it lends to the freshness of the wine in my eyes. …

Deep, rich apricot and grapefruit scents all bathed in a hint of cream. The apricot comes through on the palate as if baked into a rich creme brulee. The cream flavor grows to dominate the mid palate becoming clean and bright with hints of pastry. The wine is simpler and straight forward, but well put together at its price point.
