Decanted 45 minutes. Very expessive nose with darker fruit flavors, coffee, a hint of baking spices and floral notes. A little bigger and riper than usual for Le Cadeau. Flavors of black raspberry, cocoa, espresso and black tea. Medium-plus body. Some tannins on the finish. Stylistically (and pairing) if this was Bourgogne it would be Gevrey-Chambertin.

I just wanted to try this, so I opened it. Big Oregon style Pinot, but should have been more complex for the price. With a couple more years of age, it may prove its worth however. Somewhat more extraction that showed as very full on the palate and led to a long finish. Hold 2-3 years and try this around 2020-2021.

My favorite in a stellar lineup at the tasting room. Approachable now, but should develop nicely with a few years in proper storage. Le Cadeau is consistently producing some of the most interesting wines in Oregon.
