Very herbal nose. Otherwise pretty consistent with my last note

Consistent with previous bottle but seemed to show a bit more typicity. Solid pizza wine.

Popped and poured. A little darker than expected, the showed more plum and black cherry notes than higher toned red fruits you typically get from nerello mascalese. A hint of florals but mostly fruit driven on the nose and palate. Medium to medium+ acidity, medium tannin and body. A bit simple but tasty, quaffable red that worked well with some homemade spicy pepperoni pizza.

supposedly like a Pinot Noir. Light bodied, but certainly not delicate. Held up well with burger. Not impressive pop n' pour on it's own. Much better with food an hour later for lunch, and better still that evening. I'll let my last couple bottles rest a year or so.

Overall: unique wine, closer to new world pinot than Etna. Probably would be a crowd pleaser with overt ripe fruitiness, although the tar/earth keep it interesting. Might improve with some age. Appearance: medium-dark ruby, translucent Nose: tar, some earth, ripe strawberry, and maybe a touch floral Palate: medium-high acidity, medium tannins, medium body. Primarily ripe red fruit fruit like ripe raspberry, strawberry. Finish: fairly long and pleasant, not bitter, mouthwatering and dry. I get a bit of the tar as …
