Absolutely superb tonight. A late release from the domaine. The cork was black with mould at the top, but a tight seal meant the wine inside was pristine for its age. Served blind most thought 2000s burgundy which is a testament to its condition. Classic chard notes, full bodied, nice honey and nuts. Far fresher than I would have expected for a 1973.

Released from the domaines cellars, I believe the domain also recorks these older releases too. This was very fresh on the palate, it had some characteristic meursault flavours, but wasn't a particularly fat or buttery example. Delicious and quite long, but not the same revelation as the '66 Charmes we tried a couple of months ago. Paired well with our morel and spring vegetable starters.
