On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), integrated medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, savoury earth, mushrooms, hints of leather. Slow ox, served blind. Clear, medium garnet. Nose: Savoury earth, red cherry, strawberry, forest mushroom, floral bouquet, oak. Palate: High acidity, medium body, medium+ intensity with tart red cherry, earth, mushroom, hint of oak. Less tertiary around 3 hours in, with freshness more apparent, and strawberry and plum becoming more discernable. This is serious stuff and will probably develop in an interesting way over the years. 94-95 pts.

Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of mushrooms, red cherries, redcurrants, and vanilla oak which became more evident with more air. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of mushrooms, red cherries, redcurrant, red plums, some minerality, and the vanilla oak which kept rearing up with more air over the course of the night. …

[Notes on nose truncated]; on the palate, oak comes through, but perfectly in balance, not over the top at all; the interplay of spice and fruit and oak bode well for the future of this wine.
