Weingut Bischel Gau-Algesheimer Johannisberg Spätburgunder

Classical German Spätburgunder, not very different from Jadots Santenay 2015, albet at a different price. I opened the bottle and drank half of it with my daughter, and the remaining half two days later. It has developed nicely in the glass, indicating the wine can easily rest for another five years. It has a nice mix of fruit and acidity. At 9,90 Euro per bottle, it's a bargain.

Drack en halv flaska ena kvällen, och den andra halvan två dagar senare. Fin utveckling; det här vinet kan ligga länge ännu.

Typical German spatburgunder, although I was hoping for more. Dark color with raspberry, plum and cinnamon aromas. Maybe a bit of pepper as well. Light and elegant texture. Soft tannins and sharp acidity in the front. Currants, cherries, strawberries come back in the mouth. Length is ok, but missing the mid-palate to make it an interesting wine.
