Oudiette Champagne Rosé d'Infusion

Very elegant and beautiful rose champagne. But not that remarkable. Would be a fine buy at 50€... but I paid double which is overpriced IMHO.

This wine has a mildly oxidative style with a floral nose. On the palate, it presents notes of strawberry and red berry, medium body, and some complexity. Overall, it is elegant and quite good, with potential for further aging.

Champagne and northern Rhones : Knew the identity of this wine from its appearance, this was as good as the last time I had this but the understated and contemplative style won’t stand out in a big tasting like this unfortunately. Superb freshness with gentle strawberry and watermelon fruit, didn't have the chance to follow this enough.

Barbie vs Oppenheimer (Hey Kee HK Restaurant) : Intense strawberry and cranberry nose. Palate was less colourful and more mineral-driven, good acid structure. First time trying this producer.

98% Chardonnay, 2% Meunier, 1g/l dosage. Disgorged 22 July 2022, only 1107 bottles made. Been searching for this maker for a while and wasn’t disappointed. A rosé made using a method of infusion similar to tea-making, where the Meunier berries are gently massaged in a tank of Chardonnay for 24 hours. Very pretty salmon pink colour with delicate strawberry fruit on the palate. An understated wine with purity and tension, absolutely delicious and this was finished in no time.
