In my cellar for 10+ years, a gift without any purchase info...found this, needed something simple for some red sauce and ravioli... Medium ruby color, thinned at the edges. Wine showing black cherry, spices, licorice. Medium weight and finish. Nothing profound here but the fruit is still there and it was fine for the task at hand. Looks like this was $7 when released (or now), either way you have to say great QPR

Blackened red color with a strong nose of licorice and alcohol. Peppery with cherry and decent smoothness. Steps below en fuego. But for $6-$7, can compete with wines up to double the cost.

Initial aroma of cherries and exhibited a sharp tannic edge. After the wine opened up, the black cherry fruit flavors rounded off and the wine was more balanced. Short fruit finish.

Pepper on the nose, and deep plum and berries, good balance, very full.

Clear purple, of medium intensity. There are no signs of ageing or fading. Fairly thick and dark legs. The nose is clean, of medium plus intensity. Pleasant aromas of black fruit (black cherries) and spice (liquorice). The nose is developing, although still very primary. The flavors are consistent with the nose, with black cherry, liquorice and pepper. The palate is dry, but appears to verge to off-dry due to its fruit-forward nature and high alcohol. The acidity, tannins are medium …

The wine shows some very nice bell pepper & subtle spices present on the nose with very rich and bright aromatics. It is very impressive, almost velvety on the mouthfeel with plum and a combination of other deep fruits.

I drank this alongside a 2007 Las Rocas Garnacha and a 2007 Tres Picos Garnacha. This one won the fruit-forward/easy drinking garnacha award. It had very fruity, blueberry aroma and a pleasing strawberry and raspberry flavor but fell off and left me wanting more body. After about an hour in the glass it became much less interesting. I got this bottle for $8.00 so I am not complaining. Hell of a party wine, I’d say. A good red for the …

Aroma of berries, taste of plum. The acidity left the tannins playing a minor role. Nice with food off the grill.

This has to be one of the top wines under $7. I know I was in for something good when I saw the bodegas borsao on the cork after opening. Now, in my opinion this is a long way from being a 90 point wine, but it just sneaks in as being "very good". Compared to its peers as far as price, this is a dense wine with good acidity, notable tannins, and some great black cherry.

Round and easy to drink, more simple than complex. Little, and possibly no oak treatment. Sneaky tannins slide in behind the ample fresh dark fruit. Might even be a little sweet. Kind of reminds me of the fruit profile of a Zinfandel. Not particularly acidic. Tasty to drink alone.

Pleasant nose of cream and plums. On the palate, some decent red fruit and plum, perhaps a bit overripe, and some spice and heat. The finish kind of drops off and, I don't know, something wasn't quite right with the balance -- there was some acidity there, but there was also some harshness going on. Decent wine for $7, but I'm not going to picking up any more.

This is a great bottle for the price. Bright, fresh raspberry, red fruit flavors with enough underlying complexity to give you just enough to ponder for simple quaffing.

Actually quite nice for this price point. A little bland when first poured, but opened upnicely after a very short period of time.

Fresh and bright blue fruit on the nose. Really smooth, fresh and bright on the palate also. Nice structure and balance. The fruit flavors are really quite pure. Was surprised when told it was Garnacha. It didn't have the rusticity that I associate with Grenache. Need to expand my horizons, I guess. Good wine.
