Terrific wine. So well balanced and will hold many years. Classic hay, beeswax and wool. Love it.

It was lightly corked, so hard to judge the full potential -nevertheless, fantastic tertiary notes with the chenin nuttiness, great acidity and body.

Popped and poured. Medium gold color showing its age but was still great. Nice nose, mature palate, touch of sweetness paired great with Miso Black Cod. Bought on release and stored in cellar since.

Compared to the 2014 Clos de Bourg Sec a significantly flatter and less complex. Still a well matured Chenin (slightly oxi/bruised apple), with moderate acidity and length.

Amber to brownish. Despite ist colour this is still full of vigor and with unbelievable high intensity. A chord of fruits with high sweetness and high acidity and great balance. A finish that seems to last forever. 5/14/19/10. -2050+

This has really turned into a fantastic bottle with age, as they often do, and this is as good as any bottle of Huet brut that I’ve had. Nutty, slightly funky, but with a vibrant and fresh edge. Incredible value if you cellar these and this is in the sweet spot right now.

Far too sweet to accompany my dinner. Had to re-check the label to make sure it wasn't demi-sec. Alas, no. Well, not a food wine. Best drunk on its own, or with cheese.

Honey and lanolin nose. A lot of acid and a long but sour finish. Tastes ripe but dry to me and the palate is lemony, waxy, and full of minerality and chalk. Not a big fan, it is screechy and overly sour and lemony to my palate; I assume this bottle is correctly non-pox'd based on a seemingly similar profile to many notes.

31st of 36, pnp, slightly soaked cork but perfect level, previous bottles, last in 2011, fine plus or better - dark gold, v leggy; v complex nose including quince and apricot, nice citric lift; medium bodied, vv long, persistent and concentrated, surprisingly fresh given colour, wonderfully complex, plateau but this wine will continue to evolve for decades. Popped and poured into a Grassl Liberté at cellar temp. A lightly honeyed straw yellow color. A quite gregarious nose of first fiercely aromatic orchard fruits (like cider on a stovetop, but no cooked apple, actually more sour apple but rich) that slowly evolves to include some waxy aromas and then tropical fruits: guava, lychee. The palate gives a tiny bit of toastedness (like coffee almost), but quickly gives way to more yellow fruit on the same orchard to tropics …

Once again delightful - perfect for celebrating the end of 2025 harvest madness. So fresh and lively, this has at least a decade to go. But the depth of age is there as well. Perfect with a top flight Salers cheese.

Exceptional; crisp as ever, now developing that woolly character I love in older Chenin Blanc, alongside waxy yellow fruit.

Light yellow. Nose characterized more by stone fruit than pear-unusual for the wine. Off dry, textured, pure fruit and spice with excellent acidity. First time I've had this and it is young, fresh, and a classic Huet Demi-Sec.

Oxidised Loire Chenin sadness pt.1 When first opened, there was some pleasant apricot fruit and honey, but quickly led to bruised apple and nutty, oloroso aromas. Tragedy. The chances of two in one evening weighs heavily on the heart.

Served at my new favorite PDX restaurant St Jack. Deep gold in color, and a bit oxidative on the nose had concern early. But the palate was dry, maybe even crisp and with air the nose rounded into proper form. I guess this was simply Chenin doing its mature Chenin thing, quite the chameleon with at times coming across as almost sweet, other times dry and spry. One thing is fore sure - it went with just about everything on …

Pale gold. Honey, apple and some mushroom. The palate has soooo much concentration and layers of flavour. Baked apple, pear, honey, quince, a little spice. Acidity is good but not searing so a lovely texture with layers of flavour and tons of complexity. Even better when it warmed up after its fridge incarceration.

Prior bottle was one year ago and this wine continues to drink impressively. Lots of apple and peach notes on the nose, as well as floral qualities. Nearly medium bodied with mainly a white peach and white apple fruit profile, adding some white tropical highlights through the middle. There's slightly more depth through the middle as compared to the Le Haut-Lieu it was drunk alongside. There's also a bit more clarity and definition to the fruit due to the contrast …

This bottle needs some air to reveal its best quality. Aromas include slightly buttery toasted Marcona almond, lemon zest, tangerine peel, curd, and mango. Medium weight, the acid provides stoutness, though the edges are becoming slightly soft. The bubbles are minimal though the mousse is slightly more substantial. The flavor profile features slightly sweet notes of roasted nuts, flint, apricot, fresh thyme, and lime. Good stuff. Is drink this sooner rather than later considering the barely-there carbonation.

Apricot, peach, hibiscus, old book, a hint of lemon zest. More honey on the palate, nicely mellifluous texture with the zippy acid of Chenin Blanc, cultivating a little bit of the cooked button mushroom and old book that can make the cépage so special when combined with its primary elements. Yet for such a fortuitous vintage, this remains in the realm of the very good rather than the great.

Almost searing acidity, I think my teeth actually hurt the next day after drinking this. Great body and weight as expected from a Demi-sec vouvray. I think this needs more time to develop some depth - the flavor intensity felt almost overshadowed by the acidity and didn't quite live up to the body.

Purchased at release and cellar stored since. We did not decant and instead enjoyed the wine as it evolved. It’s an excellent wine with a floral and mineral nose. The finish is apricot and lemon with a nice acidity. This wine is in an excellent place. I’m not sure if it gets better, but I am looking forward to finding out in a couple of years.

Endlich.

Aromas of ripe apples and pears, with some funky struck flint notes in the beginning. On the palate, deliciously fruity, half sweet rather than half dry. But then the crisp acidity and vegetal, slightly mineral notes kick in to balance things out, giving the wine good length too. Every sip felt like eating sweet grapes with thick skin. Rich but with a lingering aftertaste that is vegetal, astringent, almost metallic. Let this wine breathe a little. (88-90) --- Arômes de …

This pours light gold in the glass. The nose is lovely showing wet wool, honeycomb, chalky soil, apple blossom, caramelized apple, and cold cream. The palate enters on honey drizzled apples with medium plus acid. There is almost just a touch of apple skin tannin here. The finish is medium in length replaying much of the nose. All in all this wine delivered quite nicely, and while not profound there is a lot to like here.

Sparkling Chenin is always a delight. It truly showcases the grape's versatility and playful character. This particular bottle lived up to expectations, though it was somewhat one-dimensional. It offered flavors of green apple, minerality, and subtle toasty notes. Fresh, fun, and very enjoyable.

Drank over two days with second one better. On day one, the wine seems to show some oxidation which I don't care for. On day two, that taste was gone and the wine displayed beautiful slightly spiced white fruits of peaches, pears, and apricot with some nice but non-intrusive sweetness. The bottle seemed to have lots of life left, so there is hope for better days to come.
